Publication Year
The nominated book must have its first publication date falling between 1st January 2024 and 30th March 2026 of the award cycle year. Books published outside this window are ineligible.

The nominated title must be available for purchase in India — through bookstores, online retailers, or direct distribution — at the time of nomination.

The submitted book must be an original first-edition publication. Re-prints, revised editions, or re-published copies of previously released titles are not eligible.

Only books available in hard copy (paperback or hardback) format qualify for nomination. eBook-only or digital-only publications are not accepted.

Important Notes
- Textbooks, supplementary readers, coursebooks, or any academic material designed for K-12 or university students will not be considered for any category.
- Stories written by an author as part of a multi-author anthology cannot be independently submitted for nomination.
- Publishers are strongly advised not to disclose their list of entries to any third party — including the authors themselves — until official announcement.
- Entries where the final published version differs substantially from the version first submitted may be eliminated at the Literary Director's discretion.
- Any discrepancies found during the eligibility verification process will result in immediate disqualification of the entry.
- In all disputes regarding rules, results, or the conduct of the prize, the decision of the Literary Director is final and no correspondence will be entertained.
- Acceptance of the official declaration is mandatory for the submission of all nomination forms.
How to Nominate
Submission Guidelines
All nomination forms must be completed and submitted in English only, regardless of the language in which the nominated book is written.
Authors may nominate themselves across one or multiple relevant categories, provided the work meets all eligibility requirements for each category.
Friends, family, and readers are welcome to nominate their favourite authors for books published within the designated award cycle period.
Publishers may submit multiple entries across different categories on behalf of their authors, and are encouraged to nominate deserving works from their catalogue.
Entries that are self-published, or nominated by friends and readers (rather than the publisher), will be evaluated under the Popular Choice Award track.
Only online submissions will be accepted. Physical or emailed entries are not considered. Please use the official nomination form on the website.
The Awards' Literary Director reserves the right to invite any eligible novel for jury consideration on a confidential basis, independent of the public nomination process.

Nominations in this category must be for the author's very first published book. Previously published authors, regardless of genre, are not eligible for this category. This award celebrates first-time voices in Indian literature.
Best Children's Author
This category is open to authors who have written books intended for readers between 8 to 14 years of age. Works for younger or older age groups should be nominated under appropriate alternative categories.
Popular Choice Award
